3.1  PP-R PIPES WITH FIBERGLASS

With leading-edge technology, HELIROMA offers a pipe composed of fiberglass with the least expansion on the European market. The pipe comprises 3 layers (external PP-R 80, intermediate PP-R 80 + fiberglass, and internal PP-R 80).

The intermediate fiberglass compound layer confers higher resistance to the pipe with regards to internal hydrostatic pressure and less expansion.

3.1  ADVANTAGES WHICH DISTINGUISH THE SYSTEM

• Expands 7 to 8 times less than a traditional pipe, while the composed PP-R pipe with aluminium (STABI), and only reduces 6 times when compared with a traditional pipe;PP-R
• Expansion control is guaranteed from the centre of the mass with particles of fibreglass fused into the material In this way, expansion is controlled from the centre of the pipe, reducing Hoop Stress. The STABI pipe has a strong tension between the PP-R layer and the aluminium layer which it involves, making it possible for them to separate from each other;
• The internal layer of PP-R with fibreglass is completely connected to the other two PP-R layers (inside and outside);
• The fusion process is the same as the conventional PP-R. In the STABI pipe, a prior treatment is necessary to completely eliminate the aluminium in order to allow The step of removing the aluminium is done by using a special instrument (stripping tool) for the STABI pipe, and is necessary for each diameter to be welded;
• Considerable increase of the flow, a consequence of the reduced thickness;
• Reduction of the weight facilitating handling;
• With a linear expansion coefficient very close to that of metal pipes, it allows an increase in the distance between fixation clamps (and reduces the expansion joints).
